Tamworth Aboriginal Medical Service - Aboriginal Corporation (TAMS-AC) is seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner to join our growing clinical team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver culturally safe, person-centred healthcare and play a key role in improving the health and wellbeing of First Nations peoples.

About the Role

As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality primary healthcare. Your role will include:

- Delivering culturally appropriate clinical care and health promotion activities

- Supporting chronic disease prevention and management

- Acting as a liaison between clients and other healthcare providers

- Facilitating community engagement, education, and outreach

- Advocating for the cultural and health needs of Aboriginal clients

You will help strengthen our model of holistic care, grounded in respect for traditional knowledge, connection to Country, and community empowerment.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who is proactive, community-focused, and committed to making a difference. You’ll bring:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong understanding of the social and health issues affecting Aboriginal communities

- Ability to build trusted relationships and encourage shared decision-making

- Confidence in delivering outreach and education programs

To be successful, you will have:

- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice)

- Current registration with AHPRA as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner

- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
